Miklagard Golf opened in  June 2001 with the intention of being one of Europe`s best golf facilities.

 “Arriving here amidst the traditional landscape seen north of Oslo is like stepping into a different world, that of an American style Golf and Country Club. The design of the course is in the same vein, where target golf is in order to reach elevated greens guarded by deep bunkers. However Trent Jones Jr. has successfully blended this style with the landscape and vegetation which has lost none of their charm. The natural topography is sometimes accentuated and requires the ability to hit shots from all sorts of lies and slopes, something that might well bother the less experienced golfer. In addition, players are often confronted with strategic options that calls for a certain degree of experience and reason, but the more adventurous souls on top of their game should manage to get round un scathed.  A majestic course where careful attention has been paid to detail. Miklagard is situated in the area Ullensaker, an area with strong historic traditions that go as far back as the viking age. The name Ullensaker stems from the Nordic name Ullinshof. The God Ull was son of Siv and stepson of Tor (God of Thunder). Miklagard is actually the Viking name for Istanbul - a city historically known to have been a very important trading centre. All the holes on the course have been given names after Nordic Gods and kings. Signs, buildings and features are all inspired by the Nordic Saga.
